Argumentative Text : Information Regarding Timely Teaching and Learning Activities

On Wednesday morning, March 14th, 2024, heavy rainfall prompted the school to transition to online learning. Persistent rain over several days resulted in flooding across the Semarang area, leading to the closure of numerous roadways. For instance, access to SMKN 4 Semarang was restricted due to flooding. The sudden shift to online learning caught many students off guard.

Argument 1

Online teaching and learning activity information is often disseminated abruptly, mere minutes before the scheduled start of school. Consequently, some students who had already left for school were forced to return home due to the delayed notification. This inconvenience forced students to navigate their way back home amidst the floodwaters.

Argument 2

Timely and responsive communication is essential for effective teaching and learning activities. Sudden announcements frustrate students as they receive information too late. If notifications were prompt and not sudden, students could avoid unnecessary trips to school only to return home for online classes.

Argument 3

Present-day online learning is deemed less effective as students generally prefer face-to-face interactions in a classroom setting. This preference stems from students' familiarity and comfort with traditional learning methods. Consequently, many students tend to neglect online assignments and fail to engage actively in virtual learning sessions.

Conclusion

Information regarding online teaching and learning activities must be promptly and clearly communicated, avoiding sudden announcements. Many students find the abruptness of notifications confusing, leading to communication breakdowns between teachers and students. Therefore, ensuring clarity and timeliness in communication is crucial to prevent such issues.
